Nobel Prize for gene silencing

And the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine goes to Mello and Fire, for discovering RNA silencing. The only shocking thing is how quickly it happened: 8 years since the discovery was published. Most Nobel Prizes take much longer to arrive, even though the original prizes were meant to be handed out for the year's best research. Fullness of time, blah, blah, blah.
